‘You are what you eat’ becomes vitally important when you are pregnant and with so many mixed messages about the right and wrong things to eat in pregnancy it is not surprising that most women are confused about what to eat.

Eating a healthy diet is vital to maximise the health of your growing baby and to support you through a time of changing dietary need. A nutritious diet will ensure your baby achieves a healthy birth weight. More importantly however, as scientists understand more about the connection between what a mother eats during pregnancy and the long term health of her child-this is your opportunity to give your child nutritionally the best start in life.

At The Food Clinic we offer optimise your diet providing support and dietary advice pre-pregnancy and through to the first, second and third trimester.

We undertake an initial consultation to understand more about your individual needs using a detailed health questionnaire. You will also receive a three day food diary to take away and complete.

After a follow up consultation, you will leave with a written report that summarises your personal nutrition and health goals to include a tailored dietary program including meal suggestions and recipes

In addition, we offer support for our new mums and baby’s post-pregnancy-anything from helping mum to eat well during breast feeding and beyond to advice on which foods and recipes to prepare when weaning your toddler. Please ask us for more information on this.
